Volunteer Training

RESPONSE will be conducting a training for those interested in volunteering to serve survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. This free, 30 hour training will prepare you to sensitively and effectively provide crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, information about and referral to other appropriate agencies.

The training schedule is as follows:

Monday Oct. 26, 2009	5:45 to 9pm	Introduction
Wednesday Oct. 28, 2009	6:00 to 9:00pm	Profile of a Survivor
Saturday Oct. 31, 2009	9am to 4pm	Active Listening Skills
Monday Nov. 2, 2009	6:00 to 9:00	Sexual Assault Issues
Wednesday Nov. 4, 2009	6:00 to 9:00	Children’s Issues
Monday Nov. 9, 2009	6:00 to 9:00	Legal Issues
Wednesday Nov. 11, 2009	6:00 to 9:00	Profile of a Perpetrator
Saturday Nov. 21, 2009	9 am to 4 pm	Lots of Role Play

This training will be held in the conference room at the Schultz Health & Human Service Building, located next to Aspen Valley Hospital.
