Talking with Teens About Relationships
October 21 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Response and Aspen Family Connections are bringing former NFL football player and violence educator, Derek McCoy, to Aspen for a day of learning.
Derek McCoy is Director of Prevention programs at Project PAVE in Denver. Project Pave is a non-profit with experience specializing in relationship violence prevention and intervention services. After a brief career in the NFL, Derek has found passion and purpose working to transform cultural norms that lead to outcomes of violence. This workshop will provide both parents and teens with insights into teen relationships and identity. Derek will lead a discussion of how we can practice healthier approaches to masculine and feminine socialization norms.
