February Advocate Training

We are looking for people to volunteer on our 24-hour Crisis Helpline! As a volunteer advocate you will be responding to those directly impacted by domestic and sexual violence by providing immediate and confidential access to information, resources, and support. The training will run every Tuesday and Thursday night from 5:30 to 8:30 starting on February 5th and ending on February 26th in Aspen.

In the United States, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men have experienced some form of sexual violence in their lifetime whether it is sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual abuse or rape. Every 92 seconds an American is sexually assaulted. It’s clear that there is a problem, what can we do to prevent it?

Are you interested in helping survivors of domestic and sexual abuse in our community? Response is offering a volunteer training for people interested in helping on our 24-hour crisis helpline. This 30-hour training consists of 6 sessions in Aspen and 12 hours online. September 10th - 26th, Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 in Aspen. Aspen Chapel Gallery, in partnership with Response, will be showcasing art from forty-six artists living in the river basins of the Roaring Fork, Frying Pan, Crystal and Colorado Rivers.  The juried art show will open on Wednesday, October 16th, with a reception from 5 to 7 pm.  Individuals attending the opening will be able to vote for their favorite art piece for the People's Choice Award. Response is excited to announce our second annual storytelling event at the Wheeler Opera House.  Storytellers will share their personal experiences of domestic violence and sexual assault through stories, poems, and music.  This event is on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Wheeler lobby bar.
