In connection with Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we at Response believe that an event where storytellers are able share their distinct narratives of loss, empowerment, and insight is a vital part of understanding domestic violence and sexual abuse. These experiences of survival shine a light on how crucial our awareness is as a community that domestic and sexual abuse can happen to anyone, and it affects everyone. Collaborating with Alya Howe of Writ Large, has assisted in working on the art of storytelling for these six survivors to share their compelling and insightful experiences.
